Increasing 25-50mg Sertraline

Hi there - I wonder if anyone can help.

I've been Sertraline since 2018 and was on 50mg until last September (roughly a year ago). I then dropped to 25mg and have been there since.

However, after experiencing increasing symptoms again, I’m tempted to return to 50mg.

I had appalling symptoms when I first started Sertraline and am scared they’ll return with an increase.

To complicate matters, I now have a 2 year old (that I didn’t have in 2018!) and have to go away on a work trip in two weeks (which is definitely making my anxiety worse - as I’m anxious I’ll be anxious for it!)

Has anyone gone for a similar increase after a long time on Sertraline? And how did they find it?

I feel very lost and anxious (obviously!)

Personally, I’d try and split the difference. Gently taper up, so go 37.5mg and see how that goes before jumping up. Just a thought. X

I think 25mg is a pretty low dose!
I started on 50 and then increased to 100 and am now on 200mg! I wouldn’t increase it yourself without speaking to your doctor but I’m sure your doctor would support it as 50mg is still a reasonable dose.

Sending you love. I’m very anxious at the moment too!
