Diazepam in first trimester?

This is my first post here and it’s out of desperation. I’ve always had severe anxiety and panic attacks for which I was on citalopram but we decided to go off it when trying for a baby.
I’m now 5 weeks pregnant and can barely eat and drink let alone sleep. Nurse put me back on low dose citalopram but every night my sleep issues are getting worse. Barely sleep the last 3 nights in a row.
Does anyone have a personal experience with taking diazepam as a one off for a few days just to break the cycle?
many hep would be massively appreciated. I’m absolutely desperate :(

Hi OP, sorry you're feeling so shit. I was on the highest dose of citalopram throughout all three of my pregnancies and used diazepam (2mg) sparingly aswell. My kids are all fine. It might be difficult to get the diazepam prescribed though 💐💐

Thank you @HashtagDerekSays . I just came back from seeing a GP this time around and she was very adamant that I shouldn’t take anything else.

I told her I’m in a really dark place currently but she said it’s preferable than the damage we can do to the baby especially in the first trimester…

I’d be curious to hear of anybody else has tried to take diazepam during pregnancy and was told that it’s not an option?
