Been off work for 4 weeks with anxiety caused by changing meds. Felt loads better after a few torturous weeks back in to work today. Omg by 9.10 I was in the loo crying. Walked out at 9.20. Everyone was friendly and lovely just felt the walls closing in :(
Oh and one colleague started asking me work questions which just did my head in. Feel worse then ever now - j6st want to get back on with it and be 'normal '. Any advice please or just a hand hold.thanku.x

Can you do the stress plan / triggers on HSE website? What does your line manager say?

Greedybilly · 25/09/2023 13:31

It sounds like you went straight back into work as normal after 4 weeks off. That would be really hard. Can you agree a phased back to work plan eg. working from home initially, reduced duties, time to catch up on what you missed before you start working as normal again etc? If work is a trigger for your anxiety, then it's difficult to judge the right time to go back because you might feel better in a non-work context but returning can make you regress (and it's hard to know if that will happen until you actually return). Well done for trying. It doesn't mean you can't return to work but maybe just that it was too soon or your return wasn't managed well enough.

Thanks - I had a gp note requesting a phased return but didn't stay in the place long enough for the back to work meeting. Hanging around was excruciating and I just left...
