Setraline and stomach ache

I have recently started setraline (week 2). Upped from 25mg to 50 mg and have an upset stomach.

Might just be coincidence but has anyone else experienced this and if so, how long did it last?

Hi. I did two weeks of 25mg, then a week of 37.5 and last four days of 50mg. Today I feel so nauseous, and the last few days I’ve had diarrhoea. My anxiety is through the roof today too which had subsided up until today. Apparently, it’s brutal to start but works wonders… that’s what I keep being told anyway. Good luck.

I started on a low dose of Sertraline. Quite soon I started to get diarrhoea. The Dr assured me it would settle down. After about 3 weeks it gradually got worse & worse & became totally unmanageable. Couldn’t get to the loo in time.
Dr swapped me to Mirtazipine. Told me that some people do have a particularly bad reaction to Sertraline. Good Luck.

Ha Demelza; that’s what happened to me with Mirt. I lasted 3 days as couldn’t get off the loo!

I had this with Citalopram. It went on for 8 weeks Hmm. I did find it slightly better if I took the pill straight after a meal.

I kept with it though because my mental health was so much better, but was getting to the end of my tether when it just all went back to normal one day.

Sorry to hear others have been suffering with this. Not pleasant but going with it for now.
