Escitalopram

I've been embarrassed to ask, but I might as well:

Experiences with Escitalopram? Reasons to stay on VS reasons to go off? Side-effects going off? Inability to feel if you stay on?

I've been feeling a bit numb lately, occasionally getting depressed -- yet a bit of a challenge to feel good experiences I used to feel before I got on it.

Experiences please? (Pleasebegentle)

Hi OP. Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling low. I take 10mg of escitalopram daily for anxiety and it’s been a godsend. I was having almost daily panic attacks before. I also used it around twenty years ago after a horrible bout of severe depression. It was a life saver for me. I say try it and see how it works - you can all wars try other SSRIs if it doesn’t suit you. I haven’t had any side effects other than occasional insomnia I’d I take it too late in the day.

I was on it for a while; a year or so maybe. I found it pretty good with zero side effects. I can't remember why I came off it on the end but it was likely just me being an idiot and messing around with my meds.

@stayflufft Thank you for sharing your experience and I'm sorry that it's been a struggle before. You're right, it seems that others' experiences were mostly positive and that it's worth a shot xx

@mynameiscalypso It's good that there have been no side-effects and thank you for letting me know what it was like for you xx
