I haven't had a therapy session for a few weeks and was due to have one this week. I haven't been feeling great in this time so have been telling myself I just need to make it to this week and then I can have the chat/cry/support that I need.

However he phoned today to say he is unwell so has had to cancel. Among other things, I had been planning to try and tell him about (past, not current) thoughts of suicide ideation (never had any active desire/plans). I don't really have many people in real life I can talk to so while I understand that he is ill, I just wanted to share my disappointment with you and will have to push through until the next session!

Hi @calmingdown, thanks for your reply.

I'm not in crisis, I just had some painful things I really wanted to share this week and now I can't. I'll be ok but I just feel alone

Would it be worth writing down/typing up some of the things you've got on your mind, somewhere private and secure, or maybe making a voice recording, some way of getting these things you wanted to share securely down somewhere?

In the kind of situation you're in, I've found that something in my brain seems to believe that I need to keep mentally going over the things I want to say so I don't forget them (which won't happen, but still!), whereas making a record of things as they occur to me helps me feel that they're somewhere safe, waiting until they can be shared, and I don't have to tend them so much in the meantime.
