Weird unsettling dream

I do realise that other people's dreams are silly and boring but please bear with me, this dream has really unsettled and worried me.

I rent a house from the council and my ndn owns hers. We have had a few arguments over the years, minor stuff around kids, pets etc. Get the feeling she doesn't like us much, elderly and can't be bothered.

In this dream, it became apparent that our house actually belonged to her and that she was our landlady. She was really angry and annoyed with us and was evicting us. Our stuff was all bagged up in the rooms and we had nowhere to go. We were outside wandering the streets, homeless.

I am worried now that this dream is in some way prophetic and that we will lose our home, because she will make a complaint about something or other. It was very vivid and quite frightening. Please reassure me that I'm talking rubbish! I am really sick with anxiety at the moment about lots of things and the slightest thing is scaring me witless. Is this part of it and just an anxiety dream? Thanks.

This is purely an anxiety dream. Your mind and body can feel the anxiety you have still while you're asleep and it translates it into an imaginary situation in your dream.

I hurt my eye once, it turned out I had scratched the surface of it. My body could feel it while I slept and I dreamt that I was walking in a desert wind storm and had sand in my eye. It's the same principle

Dreams are rarely prophetic. In traditional dream theory, the house represents the Self. So is something happening in your life that makes you feel displaced? Is someone behaving like they control you even though they don't? (Neighbour becoming landlord might represent someone who has adopted a role of authority over you which they don't actually have.)

no, nothing on that scale - just a bit of moaning about the kids who have been at home for weeks obviously during the school holidays - running on the stairs etc, a bit of noise in the garden. I am very self conscious about it, walls are thin and we haven't much privacy, which is maybe why I dreamt she owned the house!

Yes, that makes perfect sense, there are things happening like that. Thanks for the insight. Symbolic rather than literal ,as you say.

That's why your subconscious has latched onto it. It's really not prophetic

I had an anxiety dream recently about sitting my GCSEs on a subject I hasn't studied. I'm 46! So exams are a long time ago.

It felt so real and it took a couple of days to shake the feeling of it. Even though it was complete nonsense!

Nothing prophetic just your brain playing games with you and taking 2+2=327!

They do hang over you when you wake, don't they? I feel really bleak this morning!
