Dealing with changing body in middle age

I'm 48 soon and struggling with my changing body shape. I'm becoming very self conscious and down about the extra weight and struggle in ways I haven't before. Can you give me some advice on coming to terms with my changing body, please?
I've been very lucky to have remained slim previously with little to no effort but have always watched my diet and been relatively active.
In the last couple of years, my weight has increased and body shape has changed, making me feel fat, ugly and old. I know this sounds really pathetic and vain, I'm.sorry.

There is a similar thread atm on the Menopause page. The consensus seems to be that while some weight loss is possible usually by going low carb or doing a bit of fasting, weight round the middle is difficult to shift.

someone mentioned Ashtanga yoga, I don't know if that works.

It is crap though. Personal trainer might have some suggestions?

@AInightingale Thanks :) I did see that post. It's the self confidence I'm struggling with the most :(
