Has anyone had the feeling of guilt and upset when starting the above?
I am breastfeeding my 4 month old baby and I know I need to take them to make myself well however I cannot shake the feeling of guilt and worry I am harming my baby from taking them.
I have spoken to so many health professionals about the risks but to baby which I know is minimal but I cannot help worry I am harming him.

A happy mum is also harmful to him.

Doh -I meant an unhappy mum. Sorry

A lot of people are reluctant to take the medication, it’s part of the MH problem that you are taking them for. Baby wants a happy mum who is at her best, so take them.

I took this from when my baby was 8 weeks to 9 months. Doesn’t seem to have affected him at all. They give bf women sertraline because of the minimal risk, like there is none

Yeah, I think my anxiety is just getting worse but I know I need them but just don't want it to affect him. It's reassuring you have taken them thank you for responding

Hi @FTM21. Firstly it’s a huge step to talk to people about how you are feeling and it is so so common for mums to feel how you are feeling, so credit to you for being one of the few who talk about it. I went on sertraline when my daughter was around 4/5 months due to increased anxiety and it really helped me, I was breastfeeding too and she is an extremely bright and amazing three year old!

I am currently pregnant with my second and in my third week of sertraline again (I weaned off when TTC). Noticed my mood/ anxiety worsening and felt I needed to nip it in the bud. I’ll be 100% honest, this time I have had a more difficult experience coming onto it but with each week I’m seeing small improvements and I hope to keep going in that direction. Good luck with your journey, you’re doing the right thing for you and your family 🤍

Thank you for the reassurance and for replying to me it all really helps knowing other people have been in the same shoes as me!
