If you take this for anxiety symptoms, how does it make you feel?
Has it helped you and lessened your actual anxiety and did you experience any unwanted side effects from it?

I don't think it does anything for my state of mine; it slows my heart rate when I feel particularly anxious but I think that's it.

My anxiety caused panic attacks and it helped with the panic attack symptoms e.g. heart racing, breathlessness etc… but didn’t help with the actual anxiety. I had to take separate medication for that

It's been a wonder drug for me. I am ambitious and was doing well at work but I was incapable of presenting due to anxiety. Nerves would take over and I'd shake and my voice would wobble before I'd choke on my words.
Propranolol has changed everything. Now I take one 30 minutes before presenting and I'm absolutely fine. I now love presenting and I've been promoted as a result.
The only side effect Ive noticed is I feel a bit cold and tired afterwards.
(It turns out quite a lot of senior people I work with do the same)

It makes me feel very tired, although not as much now as when I first started taking it. I only use it when I need to and it helps a lot with the heart racing feelings.

I have found it to be fantastic but I only take it as and when my physical feelings of anxiety present, racing heart, shaky breath etc. They stop those symptoms within 15 minutes and then im ok. I was taking sertraline alongside for the actual anxiety but I've stopped that now and just talk the beta blockers when needed. No side effects

Thanks everyone. I have tried anti anxiety meds but they upset my digestive system (I have daily IBS symptoms). I was hoping to try something like propranolol as I find my anxiety gives me so many physical issues which then starts the vicious cycle of more anxiety and on it goes.
Hoping that if I can take something to ease/calm the physical issues I could then tackle the anxious thoughts with meditation/hypnotherapy etc and hope the combination of the two won’t upset my IBS which in turn may settle down if my anxiety calms down!!
