Managing change with autism

Not sure if this is the right forum but how can you support someone with autism to manage change?

It's very individual. With my son, lots of preparation, understanding of what the routine will look like, timings etc. show photos. Discuss the impact of the change.

So say he goes swimming every Wednesday at 6pm and it's cancelled. We would talk about it being cancelled, if we will miss it or go a different day. What we will do instead. If he's going to struggle I would not expect to much of him that day. And have some things that soothe him on standby
