Anyone else just starting citalopram?

I started last Friday and as expected the side effects are rough. I was on it a few years ago for PND so I know it does get easier but I can't remember how long it takes.

I'm exhausted to the point of struggling to keep my eyes open. I'm yawning all the time, but it's a weird yawn that ends with me clenching my jaw. I know it sounds ridiculous but I vividly remember having the same issue last time.

Massively struggling to stay focused (and awake) for work.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Me, I started Friday too for anxiety. Yesterday I was tired and feeling awful. Today not so bad, but have such a dry mouth 😔.

Yes I have a dry mouth too. I'm on so much medication I don't know what is "normal tired" and what is tiredness caused by the medication.

I’ve been give this to try
I had the yawning on sertraline and a really nasty reaction so I’m hesitant about trying this one
how many days are you in?

kizziee · 08/08/2023 22:39

@DandDoodlz67 what reaction did you have to sertraline (I'm considering either citalopram or sertraline.)

Experiencing severe fatigue, jaw-clenching yawns, and difficulty staying awake while adjusting to medication; seeking shared experiences from others.

Ladyj84 · 11/08/2023 11:56

Yes I was on it for a short while symptoms never eased to Dr swapped to Sertraline and never felt better tbh

@SoniyaJonas I'm glad I'm not the only one with the jaw clenching, it's so strange.

Wednesday was awful. I was working from home and I was so tired I went to bed for my 30 min lunch break, and I'd say I slept 29 mins. Then I went back to work and kept dozing off in my chair. Had to go into the office on Thursday as I knew I'd have to be more alert.

Hello
Day 6 for me. Feeling awful. Teary and terrified. Clenching teeth. Dry mouth. When does it pass??

1ittlegreen · 12/08/2023 10:57

Day 9 for me, started last Friday. Came off sertraline in October as it made me sweat excessively.

So far I'm experiencing a dry mouth but other than that things seem to be pretty smooth.

Would like to know what the future brings in terms of side effects.....
