I was hoping someone had experience with putting in a section 23 order as a nearest relative for their discharge from the section.
My family members section is due to end in September anyway and plans are being made around discharge. However, I can see that the patient in question is ready to come home and is unfortunately deteriorating in the clinical environment (which the professionals agree with). She needs her family and her home for the next stage of her recovery.
I have sent the order through to hospital managers today and it needs signing off by her responsible clinician. Does anyone know if they can block the discharge order if they are no dangers to themselves or others? Does it have to be really serious reasons to block it?
I've put the date for her discharge for 11 August.
