Hi all

I was on Citalopram for about 6 years and Mirtazpine about 4 years, since then put on over 3 stone, so I decided to come off the Citalopram that seemed to be ok and then the Mitazapine, took my last tapering dose of Mitazapine about 3 weeks ago and felt ok until last Saturday. Saw my GP on the 25 July and he started me on 10mg of Nortripyline but by the 28th I felt no different with no side effects nothing so he said take 20mg instead and every since I have been bloody awful, I suffer from IBS-D and thats been horrendous and also I have cervical spondylosis and thats been bad also, could it be the withdrawal symptoms from the Mirtazapine or starting Nortripyline anyone have any ideas please.

Hi @moonbeam1211 , I am also withdrawing from mirtazapine, down to 7.5mg on a slowish taper of 3.75.mg every 3 weeks. I'm on other ADs and pregabalin. I'm not familiar with Nortripyline, but gastro issues are very much a side effect of starting ADs, so I'm thinking it's more likely to be that? I know many people say mirtazapine withdrawal can be pretty bad, I've not found it to be too bad (yet!), but then I do have a 'cushion' of other meds. Are stomach issues listed as side effects for Nortriptyline? I hope they start to ease for you soon. How are you feeling mood wise?
