Duloxetine and Tiredness

I’ve been taking 30mg of Duloxetine for just over a week for severe Anxiety. The plan is to introduce slowly then increase the doseage.
The side effects so far are extreme tiredness & a very ‘fuzzy’ head.
Just wondering if anyone else has been on this drug & how long the fatigue lasted.

@DemelzaandRoss how are you getting on? I'm on week 3 and haven't noticed any benefits I'm still anxiety ridden and detached. X

Sorry you’re still feeling anxious. Maybe the dose needs adjusting. Return to your GP?
Still feeling tired & zombie like here. However not really anxious any more. Been taking for nearly 6 weeks. Seeing GP Tuesday, may take tabs in evening.
Good luck with yours.

@DemelzaandRoss glad you're feeling better, my Dr said to wait the full 6 weeks as it's a slow grower just praying he's right x

I really hope the drug kicks in soon for you.
Anxiety is like a form of torture. Unless you’ve experienced it, no one understands. This makes you feel worse.
Rest assured I do empathise with you. Keeping fingers crossed that horrible feeling & intrusive thoughts will soon be gone.

@DemelzaandRoss thank you so much. Unless you know you don't know. Its permanent torture so fingers crossed the meds kick in x

Duloxetine worked so well for my anxiety. Sertraline / citalopram did not do that good kind of job. It felt like whichever problem I was facing I could see it as a puzzle and find the missing piece - magical feeling. Both SSRI and SSNRI in the long run would give me tiredness though... They mess with the REM phase and no matter how long I slept I just would not feel refreshed. I am still not sure what to do about it...

Yes, tiredness & fuzziness does seem to be a feature of Duloxetine. It’s sister drug Venlafaxine is the same.
Discussed with Consultant yesterday, he suggested I take 2 hours before usual bedtime.
So will be taking later on.
As you say, the Anxiety is much improved with Duloxetine so I’m tending to accept the fatigue over being in a torturous place!!
Maybe discuss with your Healthcare provider. I resorted to private treatment as my GP is too dithery for me.
