Getting through the day

Hello, longtime mumsnet lurker back after a hiatus. I'm not feeling great about my situation at the moment and I haven't got any close friends or family. Does anyone have any ideas for nice things I could do on my own, or places I could go? Stuck in a grim part of the country and I need to do something other than rattling around crying with fear. I have just about enough money to put petrol in my car and I'm happy to travel. Thank you 💐

@ifimay sorry to hear your not feeling well. What about the cinema or are you able to get near the sea. Anxiety and fear is the absolute worst feeling. X

Find somewhere green. Being in nature is proven to help your mental health. If you can manage a decent walk, even better as the exercise will also help. You could take some nice food, or go to a cafe if you feel up to it. If you can tell us that area you're in, someone might know some local beauty spots.

I hope you start to feel better soon Flowers

It's tricky to suggest places to visit as I don't know where you are. Are you specifically looking for things to do/ places to visit on your own?

If so I agree that visiting beautiful nature is a great idea or a nice gym with steam room etc if it's available. Have you thought about taking classes?

And if you would like to hang out with others, I'd suggest finding a community of like minded people of some sorts, how does that sound?

You sound proactive, that's great Flowers
