Dominating thoughts

Wotsits22 · 22/07/2023 22:36

I went out for the evening tonight and just hated it. All I want to do is be at home in bed on my own. Anything else feels like a massive chore that I just have to massively struggle through until I can go home and be by myself again. My thoughts were dominated tonight and have been for about a week of ending my life. I can't think about anything else. On antidepressants, in counselling. Nothing gets better.

Please call mh crisis line in your area. I'm so sorry you are feeling like this x

Wotsits22 · 22/07/2023 22:52

I don't think I could speak on the phone. I've texted a crisis number but no answer yet. Last time it took 3 hours for them to get back to me.

Get your notebook out OP
write down everything
why you’re sad
dont give power to these thoughts
you can retrain them to think of other things
but for now take it one thought at a time
honestly distraction does help massively

please Read the midnight library
its an awesome book about a woman in your shoes - honestly best thing I’ve ever read

And if you wanna get in bed and chill and have a pamper
make a thing about treating yourself
have you got a friend or parent you can tell your thoughts to

Wotsits22 · 22/07/2023 23:06

I've thought about telling my mum but I think it will scare her.

Do you have family? Dcs or anyone you can talk to.
Was your night out somewhere out of your comfort zone?

Wotsits22 · 22/07/2023 23:12

I have a mum and a sister. I can't really talk to my sister. I've already put my mum through a lot with being so unhappy for so many years.
Yeah but everywhere is out of my comfort zone to be honest, I just don't want to be around people.

Could you text them? May be easier than talking?
Do you go to school /college /work.

Any positives to concentrate on. Holidays? Events? Celebrations?

Please tell your mum. Sometimes we don't realise how bad things get because we assume you'll be ok with a listening ear.
I've just had it spelt out to me and know it's time to step up. Make sure your mum knows exactly how desperate you feel and what thoughts you are having.
Please please tell her. 💐

She's coming round this afternoon, I'm so scared to tell her. She lives hundreds of miles away as well and is supposed to be going home today.

Hello OP, we are really sorry to hear you are feeling this way.

We hope you don't mind, but when these threads are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our Mental Health resources. You can also go to the Samaritans website or email them on [email protected].

Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well.

We are going to move this thread to the Mental Health section shortly Flowers
