Citalopram slower heart rate

I will be on citalopram 6 weeks come tomorrow for panic attacks and being stressed as I've got 3 kids just turned 5 and the other 2 6 months and aged 2 on the 18th of this month , I'll be 25 at the end of this month. I've noticed that im a lot more relaxed and getting back into feeling a bit like myself again and being able to get out and about slowly but surely. Recently for the past 2 weeks after my period ended I had noticed that my resting heart rate was sitting in its 50s and even when walking about the house was touching 70/80s , I don't know if this is the normal as before the normal for me and my stressful self was always sitting in 60s/70s at rest and more 80-100bpm before I started taking them so it's all I've know for a very long time.

I'm not worried as my oxygen levels are completely fine but I've only really noticed it since being on citalopram (im on 10mg) so a very small dose to take the edge off of things

Hi, I just came on here to check for exactly this. I've been on citalopram for a year though at 20mg. My whole life my heart rates been consistently in the 70s but the past month I've noticed its almost constantly around the 62 and even dropped to 55 at one point. My gut was telling me this could be the citalopram. Did you go to the doctors or anything about this or find out what was happening?

@Cocothebear hi , I did ask about it while being on the phone the doctors for something else and they said it's just the body's way of telling you it's relaxed , mines is like this still so I'm not to worried , I have my Apple Watch on so I use the health app and every day is like that so nothing any different. Hope your doing alright Smile

Thought I’d come on here and ask if when you upped your citalopram if you got any side effects again as the dosage was upped.
I was on 10mg and then put onto 20 3 weeks ago and the side effects have hit me hard again , I feel spaced out , exhausted throughout the day , insomnia at night time , slight feeling of tremors , lost apatite , and my anxiety has increased.
