Please help me. I'm somebody who can't burp. I've never been able too. I'm on day 14 of 50mg sertraline and from the moment I woke up I've had loads of gas in my tummy and throat. I can hear my stomach making crazy noises. I just want it to stop! My anxiety is through the roof. I feel like a mess. Worst day of it all and I thought I was getting better. I'm at an all time low. Please someone reassure me this is normal?

Hi!

I'm sorry to hear you are going through this. This is certainly not normal.

I am not a doctor, but have similar symptoms to you. I believe I have Retrograde Cricopharyngeus Dysfunction (RCPD). I would recommend googling it. It is not recognised by the NHS yet, but there is a whole community of us out there.

There is a really good Reddit forum called noburp. It has been really relieving to hear that we are not alone, that it is an actual condition and there is a cure!

I hope you find some relief. xx
