Hi.

I've had OCD for years and it presents in obsessions about whether I've done something wrong in the past. So like 'what if I ran someone over' or ' what if i hit someone but can't remember '.
All stuff that deep down i know hasn't happened but my OCD doubts everything.
Just wondered if anyone else suffers this and how you cope?

My DD has this.
Couple of trips to cahms has helped a lot but it doesn't go away entirely. She's pretty good at recognising when it's an intrusive thought though.
Have you spoken with anyone about this? It's not terribly well understood by most people.

I'd have to check my front door 20or so times, because once (and only once) the door wasn't closed (you have to lock it to close it) it was windy and I heard it bang.
then a counsellor said if you don't buy a lotto ticket and you se let the results does that mean you won 3 million - obviously not. But that one sentence helped. I still treble check the door but that's a lot better than 20 or so times I was checking

I've got OCD. Obsessions and compulsions, but I find the obsessions more powerful than the compulsions. Intrusive thoughts are horrendous. I get different kinds, but often intrusive words in my head, really upsetting words that emerge from nowhere 😔

Thanks for your responses. I'm struggling atm with many different thoughts and doubts. I know that ERP is the best treatment but when you feel highly anxious its hard to resist checking. I really need to get a handle on it though.
