Anxiety worsens when tired

Hi all,

Does anyone's anxiety worse and when they have had a poor night sleep? I had a presentation yesterday and the previous night I could not sleep at all

This meant I was tired groggy and anxious the whole day. Ive tried meditation and even a sleeping tablet but it's like my brain will not let me relax.

Any suggestions to help me rationalize or gain a different perspective would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely. I've got OCD, and it's always multiple times worse if I'm underslept.
It was my birthday at the weekend, and I always get birthday blues. I got myself into a bit of a state before, and couldn't sleep - the result was an oversensitive anxious me, on OCD overdrive all day. I still haven't come down from it. Lack of sleep drives us mad, quite literally.

I could also do with some suggestions. But I do find going out in nature, and focused breathing really helps.

Yep, totally… when I’m anxious, I don’t sleep well and when I don’t sleep well, I get anxious… vicious circle :(

I find exercise helps.

Insomnia is the main trigger for my anxiety. Most of my worrying is based around my sleep patterns!
