Propranolol & Elvanse - have you had both?

Hi all!

I've been on Elvanse (70mg) for a long time & it's always been brilliant for my ADHD symptoms. For the past few months I've been getting what I call a "mechanical" anxiety. As in, my heart rate goes nuts, my body feels like I'm in a full on panic but I'm not "mentally" anxious, I hope this makes some sense...

It's now got to the point very recently where because my body is anxious, my mind seems to want to join the party & I've been almost looking for something to get worked up over. It sounds so silly now I'm reading back but I literally have to rationalise my thoughts, do some guided breathing etc to calm down.

I've cut out caffeine, am really good with hydration & have cut carbs down as they seem to trigger anxiety. I'm exercising daily & feel like I'm doing everything I can but need some help. I wondered if propranolol would be a good idea because of the reported effects on heart rate.

Just wondering if anyone has experience taking both Elvanse & propanolol together?

Hi,

I was using both at the start of the year and I had no issues. I stopped taking propanalol as I started weight lifting before taking my medication and I wouldn't get a racing heart or 'mechanical anxiety' anymore as a result

I don't have both but just wanted to share my experience with propranolol. I find it really useful to have it to hand for occasional use (to control symptoms before doing a work presentation etc). But when I was first prescribed it I was on a daily dose and even though it was the lowest dose (10mg) I found I couldn't exercise as my heart rate wouldn't react enough eg to support running for more than 10 minutes. Was the weirdest feeling. Was obviously really bad for my mental and physical health, not being able to exercise, so I came off it.
