Hi guys! Ok please no judgement this is breaking me as it is .....I am currently living in social housing with my kids, this is my 1st council house, I am a mammy of 3kids I work hard and am doing my best to bring up my girls ....but things are going from bad to worse with my neighbor......., it started of him just being drunk and screaming but I would just close my door and come in but now it's come to the stage he's out shouting and being aggressive whenever he pleases, he comes banging at the door and shouting all sorts ......my friends and family have stopped coming to see me because he is so rude and disrespectful, he set fire to a car the other day and was kicking a neighbors door in .... I absolutely hate living here and have said I want to be moved but they will not move me because it's anti social behavior..... im so afraid, im constantly on edge worrying about what's next, im already on depression medication and sleeping tabs where im constantly looking out the window im so afraid ...please please help how do I get a transfer???

No idea about getting a transfer but can you call the police each and every time he kicks off? It's him that needs to be moved, not you.

Are you in Ireland (because you say "Guards")?
You might need to get that added to your title because I expect the way council housing works in Ireland is different to UK.
Are you friendly with your daughters Dad (or have another male family member/friend). Could you get them to visit/stay a few times so your neighbour can see you aren't just a female on their own.

Sorry you're going through this Op. You need a safe space for you and your kids. Mainland Uk, its a points system. Get to know your housing officer for where you live. Keep a note of all incidents/record sounds on your phone. A letter from your doctor might help.

Yes I am in Ireland, it's not that, sorry I am with my partner .. It's not that , he works away so im on my own a lot of the time I just can't live here any longer I am so afraid of staying in the house as I said he is constantly terrifying the neighborhood he kicks doors and breaks flower pots ..hes just so horrible, everyone is so afraid of him .. I just really want to get out before my kids get older I dont want them growning up with him.. All I want is a transfer that's it , it's killing me

I don't know how it works in Ireland so can't help there but keep on calling the police every time. Keep a diary. Get a Ring Doorbell so you have film of his actions.
Good Luck 💐

Can you get together with some of your other neighbours and present a case to the local authority to do more to deal with him? I don’t know what they can do but that behaviour is not ok!
