I'm having an anxiety attack, I'm 5 weeks into 20mg, should this be happening? I don't know whether to phone doctor first thing or whether I'm expecting too much. My dark thoughts have improved but not entirely gone. Advice much appreciated x

You might still be getting used to them but there is no guarantee anxiety will stop completely. I’ve been on them 5 years (20mg) also was on (30mg) for a while and still have panic attacks quite frequently. They do help overall but unfortunately are not a cure all.

It’s good that you are having some improvements although it’s rarely a straight line. It would be worth you chatting to your doctor to weigh up exactly where you are after 5 weeks.

Anxiety can be a side effect of some antidepressants, or it could just be an aspect of your depression manifesting. Either way they are scary aren't they. I think you should report your issues to your doctor. They can then decide if you are on the correct dosage, or whether to put you into a different medication. GL and be kind to yourself.
