Sertraline and diabetes

I have been prescribed sertraline - I used to take fluoxetine, but now I'm restarting them, I wanted to try something new. But ironically, I'm too anxious to take them. I have wasted hours googling side effects - dementia, weight gain, all sorts. It seems to be worse than fluoxetine in lots of ways, but then I didn't feel fluoxetine was working particularly well for the anxiety - better for the mood though.

But I've just read a section on the NHS website saying that use of over a year can lead to a small increase in risk of diabetes. I am already very overweight and take medication for high blood pressure (caused by stress, partly, I think), so I can't risk this, can I? But can I ask the GP to change it now I've picked it up already? But then I feel quite negative about fluoxetine now.

God, how I'd love to think about normal things instead of all of this all the time. I'm so exhausted. Thank you for any advice.
