Hi all. Can anyone give me some symptoms of BPD in teenage girls as I might get my DD tested. Thanks

You can't get a diagnosis until at least 18. It is usually driven by trauma, perhaps focus your energy there for your daughter rather than a meaningless diagnosis.

Most of the adults I know with BPD have a history of trauma / attachment disorders as children. However that may just be the line of work I am in.

Is you child currently involved with any mental health team. I’m sure they would be better placed to do any assessment needed.

I have BPD and as above they won’t diagnose until you are 18 and even then they aren’t keen on it. It’s mostly based on trauma so maybe get your DD some trauma based therapy and see if that helps her.

Really similar in presentation to autism in women and girls, have you considered this? Many teen are misdiagnosed due to the misunderstandings of how autism shows up in women.
