Health Anxiety

Hi All

I suffer with health anxiety especially around cancer and particularly breast cancer. I have no idea where this stems from, I have had several lumps in the past which have been investigated and thankfully been nothing to worry about. For some reason my anxiety is at a whole time high this weekend. I've checked several times and nothing is settling the anxiety. I need some advice on how others seem to cope because I feel like I can't at the moment 🙁

I have HA though it’s largely under control. Some people see their gp for medication and/or referrals for cbt.

I managed to deal with mine myself through distraction, exercise and positive self talk. There are some good resources online and an Instagram account called HA I think which I found useful.

Same, mine can flare up though, so I’ve gone nearly a year without any major panics, but because I’ve had diarrhoea 4 times this year (all logically, I can link to eating fatty, fried takeaways or is sudden influx of very high fibre foods) but my health anxiety cares not. I’ve obviously got stage 4 bowel cancer even though I actually don’t have any symptoms of it. I just keep panicking I’ll suddenly now get consistent diarrhoea- like these incidents are the slow start of it. My GP isn’t concerned so I keep repeating to my self ‘my gp has a medical degree and I have a mental health issue and Google’

Have a look at this video on the subject;

s

His background is nice and calming. I like blue. And his tone is soothing, and lo-fi music is pleasant. That quote at the end by Shedd makes sense🙋‍♀️

I usually have it over nothing but now I have a soft lump on my neck after the kids having nits and I'm convinced it's cance4 x

EJEL · 28/09/2023 18:43

This could be me!! I had a lump scare 2 years ago which thankfull was just breast tissue I wasn’t used to feeling as I’d lost weight. Fast forward to July I noticed one of my areolas had shrunk and after hours and hours of googling I’ve convinced myself I’ve got breast cancer 😭 I don’t want to go to the doctors because 1. It scares me incase they find something 2. I hate all the waiting for tests etc it makes me worse 3. I feel stupid

has anyone else just had nipple change for no reason? My youngest is 2 and a half so it can’t be hormones 😔
