Sertraline- still not better

I've written a few other threads on this but I feel desperate. I've been on sertraline for a total of 17 weeks now, 4 of those at the maximum 200mg. Whilst I feel about 50 percent better, my mornings are still very anxious and I rely on my diazepam to get me through. My psychiatrist says he wants to give the 200mg dose 8 weeks before looking at other options. I don't know how much longer I can take this. Everything I read says people are feeling better after 6-8 weeks. I was on citalopram before for many years until it stopped working. I also take propranolol and mirtazapine.

I was prescribed lamotrigine in addition to the sertraline. That worked.

@Novita thank you for replying. Was that for bipolar? I don't have that.

I am on Lamotrigine and sertraline and it does work really well and I do feel better. However I have been on Lamotrigine for epilepsy for many many years and the sertraline has been recent.

the issue I have is that sertraline interacts with Lamotrigine and could potentially therefore cause seizures but that’s true of all antidepressants

I have lithium for bipolar but the depression didn't go away on sertraline only.

Thanks for the replies. I really don't want to have to add anything else. I'm just tapering off olanzapine as that didn't help much, just made me gain huge amounts of weight.
