Starting Sertraline for postpartum anxiety/depression

My little one is 20 months and I've finally found the courage to speak to my GP about how I've been feeling. Things have gotten worse since I stopped breastfeeding just over a month ago and I've become super socially anxious and flat in mood. GP prescribed sertraline 50mg and I started them 5 days ago. Feeling positive that they will help me feel better, but also struggling with side effects. Feeling like I have no appetite, a bit nauseous, my jaw feels funny and today I started to have diarrhoea and achey legs. Has anyone else had the same side effects when they first started, and how long did they last? Overall I feel a bit weird, and the GP did warn me about this but not necessarily the other side effects. Really hoping it will settle soon and want to know about any other's similar experiences.

Well done for making the call. I hope it works for you. I tried two different doses before moving to Citalopram. Game changer. Best of luck to you.

I had nausea and diarrhoea on the same dosage as you're taking. It took about 2 weeks to start to ease and another week to disappear completely.

This is reassuring, hopefully it won't last too much longer then.
