Cutting down sertraline - shall I take the plunge?

I've been on Sertraline 100mg for quite a few years for anxiety, and it's worked really well. Due to several areas of my life being much improved, I decided to cut down (slowly). I'm now taking 50mg every other day.

My anxiety is okay, little bits but copable mostly. However, I think I'm going into peri menopause (I'm 48) and have started getting hot flushes and some anxiety which feels different from my 'normal' anxiety.

I know the dose I'm on at this point is sub therapeutic and mostly a safety blanket for me, and a big part of me wants to just stop. But on the other hand, I'm scared that the menopause induced anxiety will increase and I'll then need to go back on Sertraline. I had a horrible time starting it, I found the effects really severe and wouldn't choose to do that again.

Anyone got an experience or thoughts? I'm really not sure what to do. Thanks for any advice.
