I have been trying to switch from Paxil to Mirtazapine and I feel like I can’t breathe properly since upping the dose to 15 mg. My heart rate is going crazy and my lungs feel like they are burning. I’ve been using my rescue asthma inhaler that I never have to use. I’ve only been on 15 mg for 4 days before that it was 7.5mg. I’ve talked to my dr and he said I can either stop it or take 7.5 mg again.
I want to completely stop cause I need to breathe properly. Will this cause withdrawal? I”m on Paxil 15mg too

My suggestion would be to ask at the pharmacy or Gp. Shouldn't think stopping after twelve days would do anything but am sure when I stopped mirtazapine I had to taper down the dosage.

thx yes I spoke to my dr today and he said I could stop or take a reduced dose. I just wondered if anyone has been in this position before with mirtazapine. thank you.

Thankyou, this will be useful when I decide to stop Paxil. I think its more for when you’ve been on a medication for a long time. I’ve only been on mirtazapine for 12 days.

Mirtazapine is one of the most difficult to wean off. I would suggest reduced dose
