My 16 yr old dd suffers from terrible anxiety & panic attacks 1-2 weeks before her period. Does anyone have any advice about what could help alleviate these? Many thanks

I have this, it's hormonal. Combination pill is best for it. I'm an anxious person anyway but it's usually about something, about a week before my period I would go abit mental if I'm honest, just crying on the stairs feeling scared about I don't know what. I spoke to my doctor thinking it was perimenopause, she put me on the pill (I'm a sterilised 38 year old) it took a couple months but it'd calmed down

Might be well worth considering the pill because the poor girl can't go like this. And it could lead to her being afraid of anxiety.
At least for 6 months so she can see the difference. Talk to your GP.
Why suffer when you don't need to?

My 14 year old seems to be experiencing this. I am wondering if you found effective treatment, OP?

I’d have a look at PMDD to see if she can relate to the symptoms, it’s an extreme form
of PMS

Sorry didn’t realise this is an old thread!

It is old, but I posted on it today to ask the OP (or anyone else) for advice. Thank you for your comment - I had wondered about PMDD
