Sertraline week 7

This is my 7th week on 50mg sertraline and y anxiety has lessened substantially but I’m getting very weird dreams and also feel quite low, did anyone else experience this so late on? I have got flu at the moment so just generally feel rubbish and not sure that has anything to do with how I feel. I felt okay in week 6 but feel back to square one now…

I’ve no real advice but didn’t want to read and run. I hope you get someone with advice soon.
I just posted about my dd on sertraline 50 since Sept. She is now saying she feels numb and lacks motivation. So, I will watch your thread with interest too.
Best of luck.

For me, the vivid dreams have stuck around. I found that increasing the Sertraline helped my low mood - but from what I’ve read, Sertraline works on anxiety first, so you could give it a little more time too.

Also, when I’m ill, I feel awful mentally. Maybe don’t make any big decisions whilst you feel so rubbish - focus on soothing and looking after yourself for now.

@Starlight189 thanks for you reply, how long have you been on sertraline and what dose are you on now? I don’t know if to increase…X

About a year this time around. Currently on 125mg, I increased to 100mg from 50mg about 6 months ago and then to 125mg about a month ago.

I was really nervous about the increase this time round, but I’ve found it helpful.

@Starlight189 can I ask why you increased? I may need to as it’s been 6 weeks on Friday just gone so may give it another few weeks on 50mg.

Sure, for me it was possibly tied to winter and not being able to resource myself the way I usually do. I always get a bit of a slump when the clocks change anyway. I noticed anxiety creeping back in and an almost depressive state where I just couldn’t be bothered with anything and wasn’t really feeling joy or excitement.

@Starlight189 thank you - I’m going to see how I get on this week, it’s just the low mood/motivation/no joy etc I’m finding tough at the moment. It will be 7 weeks this Friday coming so may increase then or the week after which will be 8 and when I have a review with the GP!
