Where to go after Citalopram?

I've been taking Citalopram for nearly two years (anxiety mainly health related), started off on 10mg which did nothing then went up to 20mg which worked well util late last year.

I had a phone consultation with my GP at the beginning of the month and told him I was struggling so he agreed to up it to 30mg which so far hasn't made any difference. I'm nearly 4 weeks in now on the 30 so should I be feeling better or is it too soon?

Does anyone know what will happen if the 30mg doesn't make any difference? Where do I go from there? If they change the medication what is the next one likely to be? That worries me because of starting the side effects all over again.

Feeling awful today 🙁

I was on Citalopram (never more than 20mg) for years. It worked well for so long but then didn't have any effect. I changed to Mirtazapine, and although the change-over was horrible, I settled down and it's been excellent for the past 2 years (I'm on maximum dose of 45mg of that)

I was on citalopram for a few years and then it stopped working, switched to sertraline and didn't notice any side effects from the change, I'm on 200mg of sertraline so max dose, not sure what will happen if that stops working though.
