Hi, I have been on sertraline 75mg for nearly 18 months. Ive been struggling lately, feel like Im nearing a mental breakdown. Ive been signed off work for three months and the GP said to up the sertraline to 100mg. I took the first higher dose last night and feel like shite today.... Is this normal? I have never had any side effects from it before. When I first took it I also took the anti-anxiety one Pro something, and that spaced me out big time so I stopped that after a week and never felt anything with just the sertraline. I mean I think it has worked to lift my mood, and I sleep better generally, and I look forward to taking it every evening (! Is that weird?!) but I have never felt this whooooozy, drowsey, dozy, feeling with a splitting ache in my temple every now and again. Is this normal? I did cry quiet a lot on the GP so think my puffy eyes are because of that. I just feel weird. Is this going to calm down? How long does it take? Any way through it? I feel like going to bed and sleeping but have children to deal with, and one is off sick today too. URGH.

No personal experience but my partner has recently had his dosage changed of his AD and it really knocked him about . He has since reduced back down but has now had withdrawal symptoms from it and is off work (night sweats/nightmares/confusion, etc). So just a word of warning I guess that GP's can be quick to change your dosage but not talk you through the possible side effects, which can be major.

This isn't sertraline but he did take that years ago and unfortunately it made his depression worse.
