my 3 year old son was born 6 weeks premature. I have zero history of asd in the family on both sides. I think my son is moderate to serve autistic. I’m really struggling with why and how. I did take sertraline through my pregnancy. I am really struggling to come to terms that I may have caused this? I feel so alone. I would love there to be answers to how this has happened. I think I’m searching for something I will never find and just going in circles sorry. I just get to the point of FEELING like I don’t want to be here anymore . I will take the step to get professional help because I’m struggling to deal with this on my own 😢 please be kind

This section of the forum is for ND members to support other ND members, and not for medical queries. You may find it more useful to post on another section of the forum.

FWIW, there is zero evidence to support what you are suggesting in your post.

Morning, OP. We're sorry to hear you're feeling so low and struggling. When we see posts like this, we usually send a link to our Mental Health webguide, which has lots of numbers and websites where you can find advice and support in real life. We hope that's of some use.

We've moved your thread over to our Mental Health board, too, where we think you'll find lots more people who've been in your shoes and might be able to offer support, too.

Just wanted to offer support as it sounds like you are having a difficult time. You are upset and worried, but looking for reasons or causes is not going to help. You have not caused this, the medication hasn't caused this. Please try not to be so hard on yourself.

I am glad that you are open to getting professional help. Do that ASAP and be honest with them.
