Hi all,

Has anyone taken Citalopram (I’m on 20mg) during pregnancy? I would love to hear any positive stories about how it helped you. There are negative stories out there about how it can affect the baby but my GP has assured me that thousands of women take antidepressants while pregnancy and that I would be safe to do so. So I’d love to hear any positive stories from you!

I am still unsure on the matter my second daughter has speech delay but was my medication (citalopram) ,lockdown delay or genetics .I cant tell otherwise she is a happy chatty child

My first daughter i took paroxitine and she was very delayed .Slow to reach every single milestone .Both my other half and i were unemployed at the time so she got even more time with us than our second .I don't know if its genetics or something else .

I have a positive experience!

My doc said this was the best option for ADs during pregancy, he specialises in mental health and had recently attended a conference about MH & pregancy where Citalopram was cited. I was on this throughout my pregnancy & my Dd who is almost 4 is thriving... beautiful, funny & smart.

Remember, your wellbeing is key to the wellbeing of your baby and this includes your mental health as well as physical health.

I hope I've helped ease your concerns: congratulations & all the best xxx
