Does this sound like anxiety?

Hi

My thirteen year old has been having issues with her mental health and has said she's always hearing voices. Not a voice in her head that she knows is hers, but as if there is actually someone talking to her. It's always negative things the voices are saying. Telling her to harm herself or even others. She gets very distressed when this is happening, I find her at times hiding in her wardrobe to try and escape the voices. She says she also sees it as if a person is stood there having a conversation with her. It's really affecting her life at the moment and she's struggling to leave the house and go to school.

CAHMs are putting this all down to mild anxiety but I'm not sure I'm happy to just accept that.
So would just like some thoughts on this?

Thank you

This is NOT mild anxiety and must be awful for her (and you). You need to go back to your GP or go private.

This is absolutely not mild anxiety. It’s really quite serious with trying to worry you. She needs to go back and be assessed properly. If you can afford to do this privately I would, the wait for this could be months and months and they you may still get fobbed off. Good luck

Thank you both, I will have a look at getting her seen privately as our GP has been useless so far.
