Just wanted to put that out there
I generally hate this time of year and have had A&D for years.

have hit the point I cba to even clean the flat.

I know it will pass but I really need it to pass fast! It's harder than usual because I'm quite isolated now.

times like this, even MN is quiet. At least Xmas will be over soon.

You're not alone, Emma, I've heard many others say the same. Make sure you line up some good things to watch on the box, try to relax and eat nice food. It will soon be over. I've no doubt there will be others who come on Mumsnet and share their 'joys', rows and mishaps over the Christmas period.

Plan something you will really enjoy for the new year.

Take care. x

Thank you
I'm stuck with elderly mum so no fun to be had there. I thought about feigning illness but it's not worth the bother.

Re food, she can't really eat, poor soul, but she is also deeply unhappy about me being fat so I can't really have any treats there.

this is the first Christmas I've faced with no friends so it's bound to seem worse, I guess.

tbh it's more like - I can put a brave face on stuff a lot of the time, but Christmas feels like you can't run away, there's no escape, and this time there's not any social fun stuff either.

Sorry to be a misery, it really helps to chat online though, makes me feel less alone. Thank you for replying.

Emma, that sounds like tough going right now and I agree many hate this time of year, try and get through the few days as best you can Flowers

I a can really empathise. One thing to focus on is that we've now had the solstice - days will officially be getting longer and the nights shorter from now on! That's got to be a good thing.

EmmaAgain22 · 21/12/2022 22:20

Thank you Sid
the fierce weather last week made it worse too, I was hanging on before that. It's been a rough few weeks, I had pneumonia, mum had a stroke, work and life admin got totally behind.

Snuggle yes, always relieved when solstice is done. Snowdrops out soon, I hope.
