Today I woke up, took my 2 Y/O to nursery and on the way home I felt dizzy, tired and full of cold. I was due at work late morning so thought I'd take it easy and see how I felt. I ended up phoning in sick, I couldn't even face working from home, let alone physically going in. I do feel like this occasionally but most of the time just power through it.

I do a mixture of shifts every week but always 40 hours, I do all nursery drop offs by foot and my DP does the pick ups by car when I have a late finish.

Had a big sleep this afternoon and now feel so much better, I really felt burnt out. I wondered whether this is just a normal level of parental exhaustion that I may just get used to or do you think this sounds like I just can't cope?

I don’t know the answer OP but I find life incredibly difficult and have just shut down for a few days, starting as you did with feeling dizzy and full of cold, I think life is hugely demanding on many people and the results manifest physically and mentally
