Hey my psychiatrist has prescribed me vortioxetine to take for 2 weeks at 5mg then 10mg after, i’m really struggling to tolerate it within minutes of taking it i’m violently sick and have diarrhoea. I’ve tried taking it with food, 30 mins before, 30 mins after etc and still same result everytime i’m not sure if i can push through it as i’m already struggling mentally with my toddler nvm adding this physically into the mix. Has anyone else had similar experience or any positive outcomes with this tablet? I also take lamotrigine for mood

Hiya - I had bad nausea with it so I took it just before bed and that worked for me. Good result from the medication in the end. Hope this helps a bit! 💕

Hi, I've taken this for about 9 weeks or so now. I was lucky in that I didn't have any nausea with it. But I did feel very tired to start with and my worst symptom was having a really tight clenchy jaw - this has improved a lot - not totally gone but much better. I started on 5mg and initially didn't think it was doing much for my mood and anxiety as at one point I felt really quite low. I queried whether increasing the dose would make a difference worrying that it might make me feel even lower in mood. I was advised to increase the dose to 10mg and it has made a good difference and I am feeling so much better - less constant adrenaline, less PTSD symptoms, happier, much less depressed, intrusive and negative thoughts have improved, able to laugh and feeling much more myself. I seem to be more relaxed, no longer ridgidly controlling EVERYTHING like food and exercise and am more at ease socially. I've tried Sertraline, Duloxetine, Paroxetine, Mirtazapine, Gabapentin etc. This is the first one that seems to be making a difference without maxing out the dose. I was on 200mg of Sertraline and still felt like crap. Hope this helps.
