Struggling

Hoping for some words of advice and support. I had a severe episode of anxiety and depression almost 13 years ago, been fine since then but struggling at the moment.
Sold my house due to divorce, had to move to rented but now bought another house. Been through an awful lot of stress the last 18 months and coped. Had tragic family bereavement 5 years ago, both dds now living independently so life has changed.
Suddenly, after moving into my new home I feel incredibly stressed, not eating and shaking. It's like suddenly everything has caught up with me. Pinning my hopes on a doctor's appointment later today, hopefully get a prescription for the medication that pulled me back from the brink last time.
Has anyone else ever coped through lots but then crumbled when it should be getting better?

Hi Tinygem. I’m sorry to hear you are having such a horrible time. Sounds like you have been through an awful lot.

I’m going through a really bad time at the moment. My depression has hit an all time low. I’m going through the menopause which is making it so much worse. Currently trying to find the right HRT combination to help me feel better. I’m not sure what age you are, but could this be a factor?

I think it’s quite normal to crumble after going through horrible events but cope at the time. My dad died in 2020 and although I have depression I coped fine, it was a struggle of course, but like you I coped and now I’m just a mess.

I’m guessing you would have been to the doctors by now, were they of any help?

Take care x

Thank you Krazykitty, sorry to hear about your depression. I think I'm through the menopause so not likely to be a factor.
It's incredible how you can just keep going through really tough times, and then get the depression and anxiety afterwards.
The doctor was sympathetic and prescribed propranolol, doesn't seem to be having a huge affect at the moment but we'll see. Really can't afford for this issue to affect my work.
You take care too x
