Up and Down

I really don't know what's going on with my mental health.

A few days ago I was really down, anxious and unconfident. I was doubting all sorts of things about myself.

Today I feel upbeat, happier and more confident. I feel like a different person.

I've had these mood swings before but put them down to PMS. I no longer have periods and just can't work out what's going on.

Any advice or does anyone else experience this?

Hi
Yes I recon everyone experiences this. There can be many factors that contribute. I found journaling helped me. Just a small amount each day, even asking questions like 'What made me smile today? or 'what made me unhappy today, What did I learn about myself.

After a few weeks of these questions I saw very clearly that there were patterns to what made me smile and not. It was the small things that we put to the bottom of the list, especially mums.

So now I prioritise, my sleep, having me time like baths (In peace), eating right, getting fresh air etc.

Remember its normal, nothing going wrong, just part of discovering what makes you happy and doubling down on this.

Be easy on yourself and keep the self talk in check, it can get carried away! 🙂

Thanks for your reply.

It was like crippling anxiety for a few days with depression. I had to phone the Samaritans as I have no one to turn to although I feel bad blocking the line for anyone who might be suicidal.

@upanddownandround
Hey please don't feel like you are taking up time, everyone needs help and its ok. I am sure they were able to help you in that moment.

Just remember help is always around and there is so much online too that you can seek out and find things that lift you up slightly.

I hope today you are feeling more improved and can begin to see the light.
