Sertraline advice please

Just that really. Been back to GP today and was a bit of a waste of time to be honest.

Discussed that I’m really struggling, low mood, difficult to focus and really tired. I need to address this before I have a total crash which has happened before.

GP suggested I try sertraline, I did discuss that I’m anxious about the side effects. He didn’t seem bothered by this, or offer to have a conversation/offer reassurance/make a plan.

Does sertraline help with motivation and focus please? And how are the side effects? I know different people are affected differently.

Feel like I’m ok my own really. I’ll discuss at next therapy appointment.

I’ve started this about a month ago. the initial side effects were sickness and drowsiness and lack of appetite.

I LOVE my Sertraline, but it was for agoraphobia. Not heard of it for lack of focus? But it is an anti depressant so if they're linked then it could help. But mine makes me more tired.

The first few weeks are brutal, have to be honest. But you have to get through it and then your life is back

I had no real side effects until I went up to a very high dose. Difficulty focusing/concentrating is a symptom of depression so it can help with that.

I do have depression. I also wonder when I reflect back on my thoughts and actions if I have some anxiety too.
I really need to focus in order to do my job, I was on escitilopram but weaned off them because of how they made me feel.

They have been really effective when I took them previously so I guess they were my safety blanket.
