Getting signed off work

Feeling very fragile and tearful the past couple of days and work on Monday seems overwhelming. Considering asking to be signed off but how do I go about this? Do I ring the GP?

For context my mum died 2 months ago. I didn't take much time off (a week), I have two disabled children one who has been really hard work over half term, lack of sleep then work stresses in the back of my mind (secondary teacher).

Ring the surgery , ask for a telephone consultation, tell them how much you are struggling , ask them what support is available and consider if a bit of time off will help you

You are still grieving love , be kind to yourself

I'm sorry for your loss and that you're struggling Flowers
Yes get s telephone consultation with the GP and explain how you are feeling and your recent bereavement. Tell them you cannot cope with work at the moment.
Usually they will sign you off for 2 weeks in the first instance.

Have a think about what will help you and try to use the time to focus on things that will help you feel a bit better. Exercise, swimming, getting out for a little while every day can be helpful

Thank you both. I've got a phone appointment with the GP this morning.
