Hi all, just wondered how those of you suffering from mental health issues knew there was an issue? Was there a 'light bulb moment', a chat with the some one or something else?

I have been struggling recently, feeling really quite empty or sad. I am finding it tough to see what the point of anything is. I'm not really sure whether it's just a phase I'm going through or whether there is actually a deeper issue.

On one hand I feel like I'm just been dramatic, on the other I worry there is something... any advice on how you realised there is an issue would be appreciated!

What you describe is typical of depression; not sadness - just numb, as if you're incapable of feeling. It's something that most people encounter during their lives, either by events (death, end of a relationship, loss) or environment - having no control over their surroundings. Can you pinpoint what's triggered it?
