Lamotrigine/quitiapine hand hold

Hi all,

My psych has just prescribed quitiapine and lamotrigine for ptsd, panic disorder and depression with severe derealization.

I'm a bit worried as I've tried quitiapine before (very very briefly) and it made me very short tempered. He is hoping this will pass.

Ive not heard much about lamotrigine.

Ssri's etc make me go a bit hypomanic hence why he's using these meds. Ive never had a high as such but there may be a bipolar spectrum response to ssris.

I'm trying to keep as positive as I can that something will finally work. Any good news stories would be so appreciated right now.

Thank you xx

I take lamotragine for my bipolar and it’s been life changing. My moods are much more stable and I don’t have as many bad days now.

It seems to, I still have anxious days and I have to exercise a lot of self care but I’m much better than I was. It didn’t work overnight though - it crept up on me and one day I realised I wasn’t suicidal anymore.

@Pinkandpurplehairedlady I'm very glad to hear it.
I have a lot of nervous energy so I'm hoping it won't be activating 🤞
