Have you ever gone for long periods without crying and what fixed it?

I haven’t cried in several years, I feel emotionally numb. I occasionally get a rush of emotion but it’s like I can’t physically cry. Has this ever happened to you and what fixed it?

Only while I've been on antidepressants, like you say I get the rush, feel it in my chest and throat, then nothing. very frustrating. I used to cry regularly!

It’s so frustrating, I’m not on antidepressants

I never cry ever 🤷‍♀️ Even when I fell over running the other week and really hurt myself I still couldn’t cry . It’s so weird

When did you last cry, and why? if you don't mind saying. Are you suppressing it? do you feel other strong emotions?

I haven't cried in around 7 years I think. Last time was when my Dad died and the weeks after that. Is that weird?

I cried when my grandad died a couple of years ago but I still feel like I was holding back, the last time I properly cried was in hospital in the days after my first baby was born and I think it was a hormonal reaction as there was no real reason to cry, someone suggested that not crying properly since might be because I had a negative reaction to crying at the time, which would make sense as I felt I needed to stop crying for visitors etc? I feel anger sometimes strongly but otherwise I feel a bit numb.
