I think I have anxieties

At the grand age of 34 I am starting to realise I have some anxiety!
These feelings I have aren't normal for everyone!
I believe after googling I have generalised and Social anxiety.
I obviously am self diagnosing at this point and after visiting the NHS website I can refer myself for some online sessions or visit my GP (This is making me anxious just thinking about making that appointment!)
For those that have gone through this is it worth seeing the GP or just trying rhis online help?
Thanks

It’s worth seeing a GP.
Thyroid issues, or even low iron, can cause anxiety so it’s good for underlying reasons to be ruled out first.
Even if all okay it’s still worth discussing with the GP as talking therapies (or online sessions) aren’t always a magic fix and it may be that medication would help alongside therapy, in which case it would be helpful for the Dr to know how long you have been feeling this way so it’s good to have it on record.

Thank you that was very helpful!
I am due to go in to the Dr's soon so I will make an appointment! It just seems so daunting!
Thanks again.

How did you get on at the docs OP?

Thanks for asking.
I haven't built up the courage to do it yet!
But I have built up to go to the optician's today so hopefully I can get the courage to go to the GPs!
