Can I ask if anyone else has experienced this.
I have suffered depression since early 20s and been medicated on and off since then. PND with both DC (16 and 14) now and then had a big wobble in 2015 which meant work found out as I took time off. Previously had hidden it from work and have high functioning anxiety etc. I also work in a job where I have experienced PTSD.
God writing all this down makes me sound like a right catch !!

Anyway DH and I have very much had our ups and downs over the 19 years of our relationship, I supposed like most people. He doesn't understand my MH and struggles with empathy.

We have had a bad month as I've been very down as struggling with sciatica which means all my normal strategies such as exercise and yoga are out of the window. I'm in chronic pain which anyone who has suffered with it can understand.

I have suspected for a while he could be ASD but not done anything about this. However this week I've been reading up a lot and he ticks the majority of the boxes for Asperger's. Three of his DN have autism of varying levels but in mainstream school and I suspect his sister is too.

I did the AQ test for myself and how I perceive him. I scored 11 and he scored 43 - anything above 32 indicates ASD and advises to get proper diagnosis.

It actually explains huge amounts of his behaviour and attitude to me, which has been a cause of frustration and indeed some of my dips in mood as he shuts himself off and won't talk to me for days after an argument until he has processed it.

I don't know that a diagnosis would do much but I do think we are at crunch point now. Has anyone else been through similar?
